  • 1. Perfect in curry dishes

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry itโ€™s distinct yellow colour. It can be added to curries along with black pepper, which helps your body to absorb the curcumin.

When cooking rice, a teaspoon of turmeric powder can be added to the pot along with a stick of cinnamon and some cardamom pods.

Fresh turmeric can be chopped into fine pieces and then placed into the freezer to keep in easy batches.

  • 2. Antioxidants

The main active ingredient in turmeric is ‘Curcumin’, which is a very strong antioxidant. It helps to consume a bit of black pepper with turmeric to ensure that the curcumin is adequately absorbed into your system.
