This Organic Green Banana Resistant Starch is made in Australia from Organic green lady finger bananas – which have been grown using biodynamic farming techniques, without synthetic chemicals or pesticides, in the Atherton Tableland region of FNQ. The peeled bananas are naturally processed at a low temperature using gentle, low speed milling techniques. The resulting powder is free from artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Not all natural starch present in our foods is digested – and is therefore known as resistant starch. According to the Australian CSIRO resistant starch ‘feeds beneficial bacteria of the large intestine’ and ‘eating foods rich in resistant starch nourishes gut bacteria, which helps maintain intestinal health’. Green un-ripened lady finger bananas contain 38% resistant starch – higher than any other tested food source. This prebiotic Green Banana Resistant Starch powder is a light brown colour with a subtle, unique earthy flavour and aroma. It is can be added to beverages, breakfast dishes, raw foods, baking recipes, or savoury recipes.

How to Use:

Add 1 heaped tablespoon (approx. 20 grams) of Green Banana Resistant Starch to a glass of water, let stand for 3 minutes, then stir until combined. Alternatively add to dairy or plant milk of choice, smoothies, coconut water or fresh juice. Sprinkle over yoghurt and fresh fruit, porridge, breakfast cereals and Acai bowls.

Delicious, natural GBRS powder can be added to raw ice cream or chocolate, chia puddings, and yummy ‘super’ ball or slice recipes. Or mix a few spoons in home-baked bread, biscuit, muesli bar and muffin recipes. Include in savoury soups, hotpots and stir-fries; or sprinkle over salads, noodles and hot dishes before serving.

Storage:

Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Refrigeration recommended in warm climates.

Shelf Life:

Up to 24 months when stored as above. See Best Before date.
