These scrumptious Dried Sour Cherries are a wonderful snack or pantry ingredient. Pitted Montmorency red tart cherries have been infused with natural cane sugar then lightly sprayed with sunflower oil. They have a rich ruby red colour, firm texture, fruity aroma and slightly tart flavour. These delicious dried sour cherries are non-GMO, have no detectable pesticide residue, and contain no artificial preservatives, flavours or colours. Add dried cherries to breakfast, raw food recipes, home-made ice cream and chocolate, baked goods, desserts, preserves and sauces.
How to Use:
Dried Sour Cherries are an instant snack that is great in lunchboxes or combined with seeds and nuts in hiker’s mix. Add dried cherries to muesli and granola, porridge, natural yoghurt, smoothies and acai bowls. Dried cherries are wonderful in raw food recipes like chia puddings and energy balls.
Available all year round they are a great substitute when fresh cherries are out of season. Use them to make luscious sauces, homemade chocolate or ice cream. Add dried sour cherries to home-baked cakes including classic Black Forrest Gateau and dark fruit cakes.
They are also wonderful in muffins, biscuits and desserts. Sour cherries can be used in savoury recipes like cous cous, curries or rich hotpots; and compliment meat and poultry dishes beautifully. Or serve them on a cheese board when entertaining.
