Organic Whole Green Lentils
Whole Green Lentils are traditional flat lentils that have a mild earthy flavour and nutty aroma.
These lentils are easy to sprout for stir fries and salads.
How To Use:
There’s not much that this lentil can’t do. It’s a filling and nutritious addition to soups and casseroles, is delicious combined with curried cauliflower or mashed pumpkin and is a must in coconut curries. For a meatless meal, make a loaf with cooked green lentils, vegetables and lupin flakes and include ground linseed to bind.
To pre-cook these lentils, rinse thoroughly before bringing to boil in a pot of water at a ratio of 1:3. Reduce heat to simmer for 30-40 minutes (longer if un-soaked) or until tender. Do not add salt to water during cooking as this can cause the ‘skin’ of pulses to become tough.
Sprouting Lentils:
Green lentils are easy to sprout in a glass jar and are ready to eat in just 2 to 4 days. Have crunchy, nutritious sprouts for salads, sandwiches and stir fries at a fraction of the price of buying them.
