Nutritional Yeast Flakes Toasted
Golden toasted flakes of inactive yeast are a wonderful way to add a savoury, cheese-like flavour to recipes. This nutritional yeast is made from a variety of Sarrcharomyces Cerevisiae (aka: brewer’s yeast) that is produced on sugar beet molasses before it is dried and flaked.
How To Use:
When cheese is off the menu, these flakes are a great option.
Toss hot popcorn in yeast flakes for a cheesy flavour or add to mashed veggies and smashed avocado.
Combine with tahini for a delicious spread or use in place of cheese in fresh pesto.
Make a tasty pasta sauce by gently simmering coconut milk until slightly reduced before adding crushed nuts and veggies, then stir in 3tbs yeast flakes before serving.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
