Wild Rice
Wild rice is nutty with a slightly chewy texture and often cooked together with white rice to make stunning salads, side dishes and pilaf but is equally good on its own with robust casseroles and vegetable bakes.
How To Use:
Its earthy flavours pair beautifully with mushrooms and root vegetables as well as pecans, almonds and cranberries.
To cook, boil 1 cup wild rice in 6 cups water or stock for 40-45 mins until just tender. In a rice cooker, use a 1:2 ratio.
Wild rice can also be prepared using the absorption method or in a rice cooker.
Storage:
Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. See Best Before date.
