Steamed salmon is a light, nutrient-dense food everyone can enjoy. Oily fish such as sardines or salmon will give you a hit of omega-3 and other long-chain fatty acids. Increase the ingredient quantities to make more of this healthy steamed salmon dish. This steamed salmon recipe is an excellent fool-proof method to cook your salmon to perfection.

Make a broth by combining coconut water, tamari, lemon juice, dried or fresh mixed herbs and garlic in a medium-sized saucepan with a steamer attachment. Season with Celtic sea salt and pepper, then cover with lid and bring broth to the boil. Lower heat and let simmer for 15–20 mins to allow flavours to develop.
1Place the piece of salmon in your steamer attachment above the simmering broth. Steam with lid on for 5–6 mins or until cooked to your liking.
2Gently pour broth over salmon and serve with a green salad or steamed vegetables. Optional to sprinkle with black sesame seeds.
